NTC-NCRC Meeting for B.Sc. Chemical Engineering Technology Program Held at UoT Nowshera

The National Curriculum Review Committee (NCRC) Preliminary Meeting for the B.Sc. Chemical Engineering Technology Program was successfully held on September 14-16, 2022 at Shuhada-e-APS University of Technology (UoT) Nowshera.

The meeting was organized by the National Council of Technology (NTC) of Pakistan. Experts from across the country participated in the NRC meeting. Chemical Engineering Technology Programme, NTC Chairman Mr. Imtiaz Hussain Gillani in his inaugural address expressed his view that reviews of similar programs in 40 engineering technology disciplines are underway across the Pakistan. He also pointed out that the main objective is to align the current curriculum of the Engineering Technology program with the new undergraduate agricultural work of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan. Also, speaking on the occasion of Vice Chancellor UoT Nowshera, Prof. Dr. Zaffar Muhammad Khan applauded all participants for being part of such a national cause.

He also expressed his gratitude to the NTC for organizing the NCRC at UoT Nowshera and taking such an initiative to upgrade the quality and skills of engineering technologists. The new program will be designed in accordance with the International Engineering Alliance (IEA) Sydney Accord (SA) guidelines for engineering technologists. Chemical Engineering Technology Program, the program will be based on Outcome Education (OBE) with a student-centered approach. This will significantly improve the quality of engineering technologists produced in Pakistan in accordance with international standards. During the closing session, the Vice-Chancellor thanked all participants of the NCRC meeting and distributed shields. On behalf of all invited members, the NCRC meeting organizer Prof. Saeed Gul from UET Peshawar also thanked the NTC and UoT Nowshera teams for organizing and hosting the successful NCRC preliminary meeting.
